Path to MRI Certification

Baseline Certification (Radiography): Radiography program graduates can take the ARRT exam to earn their RT(R) credential for entry-level imaging positions.

MRI Education or On-the-Job Training: To specialize in MRI, technologists need additional education through either an MRI certificate program or ARRT-approved clinical training.

MRI Certification Exam: After meeting requirements, technologists take the ARRT MRI exam to earn their RT(R)(MR) credential.

Workforce and Economic Impact: MRI technologists are in high demand, especially in rural areas. Local training retains healthcare workers and drives economic growth.
